Corey is a Director with responsibility for Sunera's Canadian practice based in Calgary. Prior to Sunera, Corey spent five years as the Chief Audit Executive at WestJet Airlines, Canada’s second largest international airline. While at WestJet, Corey launched and built the organization’s internal audit function, overseeing all of the strategic risk, internal control and advisory initiatives. In addition to overseeing the risk and audit function, Corey was also directly responsible for planning, scoping and executing the organization’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance project.
Corey has over ten years of relevant work experience in internal controls, risk management and finance, including many years in the Financial Services industry in various managerial capacities. Corey is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in addition to being a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
