Wes is a Managing Director with Sunera who has responsibility for leading the Raleigh office. Wes' professional career includes over 18 years in industry and professional services roles across several industries including financial services, retail, manufacturing and distribution, and healthcare. While with KPMG, Wes led the delivery of advisory and attest services projects for the firm's largest client in the Southeast. His industry management roles have included serving as a chief information security officer, managing an ERM program, and leading an IT audit department.
Wes has extensive experience in areas including technology and operational risk, IT management, information security and privacy, process improvement, due diligence, strategic planning, system selection projects, and business continuity planning consulting. Most recently, he led the development of an enterprise-wide IT risk management program at one of the top ten financial services organizations in the US. The project included the implementation of several GRC software solutions from Archer Technologies.
Wes is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and received his Bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has spoken at various professional events covering topics including technology risk, information security, Sarbanes Oxley, and business continuity. He has also worked with a leading risk management organization on building a business case for developing their ERM leadership services and training for members and developed strategic recommendation for the Board which was approved.
